Competition Overview
According to sohu.com, the China Medical Device Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has been successfully held for eight consecutive sessions since 2018, making it the national professional competition with the largest number of participating projects, the highest quality, and the greatest industry influence in China.
Over the past eight sessions, a total of 6,007 projects from home and abroad have participated in the competition. The competition and its supporting on-site events have collectively engaged over 5,000 innovation service and investment institutions and enterprises. Additionally, multiple ministerial leaders, academicians, and hundreds of authoritative experts have provided on-site guidance.
Across the eight sessions, a total of 726 first, second, and third prizes have been awarded. Tracking statistics conducted half a year after the competition showed that the total financing amount for the winning projects exceeded 8 billion RMB.
The 9th (2026) China Medical Device Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is led and hosted by the China Science and Technology Development Foundation. This foundation is a national public fundraising foundation directly under the China Association for Science and Technology. It has long maintained deep cooperation with ministries such as the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Medical Products Administration, as well as various national-level academic associations, large medical institutions, and well-known academicians and experts in the industry. The foundation has a solid working foundation in medical device innovation empowerment and financial services, various talent support programs, national guidelines for innovative products, market access, and the National Natural Science Foundation joint fund for enterprises.
Currently, the category competitions and special session competitions are in full swing, and the finals will be held in Tianjin in October.
